Timoptic Side Effects

Burning and stinging are the most common side effects reported with all types of Timoptic. Problems that are rare (occurring in less than 1 percent of people using the eye medication) but possible include nausea, insomnia, and drowsiness. While most side effects of this drug are mild, some are potentially serious and require immediate medical attention, including anxiety, rapid weight gain, and hallucinations.

An Introduction to Timoptic Side Effects

As with any medicine, Timoptic® (timolol maleate) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.

(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Timoptic. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of Timoptic side effects with you.)
