Qoliana Dosage

One drop of Qoliana is used in the affected eye(s) three times a day to help lower eye pressure caused by certain conditions. This standard Qoliana dosage is the same for everyone, regardless of the severity of your eye condition. However, if these drops do not effectively lower pressure, you may have to use an additional eye medication.

An Introduction to Your Dosage of Qoliana

There is only one standard dose of Qoliana® (brimonidine tartrate), regardless of your age, weight, or the severity of your eye condition. As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Standard Qoliana Dosing Guidelines

The recommended Qoliana dosage for treating glaucoma or high eye pressure is one drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily, about eight hours between doses. It is generally not recommended to increase the amount beyond the standard recommended dose, even if your eye pressure remains high. If this dosage does not adequately lower the pressure in the eye, your healthcare provider may add another type of glaucoma medication.

It is generally acceptable to use another type of glaucoma medication while you are using Qoliana, as long as you are careful to wait at least five minutes between using the medications to avoid any interactions between the preservatives or other inactive ingredients.

General Information on Using Qoliana

Some considerations to keep in mind during treatment with Qoliana include the following:

  • To prevent contaminating the eye drops, do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface, including the surface of the eye or the skin.

  • For the medication to work properly, it must be used as directed.

  • If you are unsure about anything related to dosing with Qoliana, please talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
