Qoliana Medication Information

Qoliana® (brimonidine tartrate) is a medication used to treat certain eye conditions, including open angle glaucoma and high eye pressure (ocular hypertension). This generic version of Alphagan® P is available by prescription only and comes in the form of eye drops. The standard dosage is one drop in the affected eye(s) three times a day, with about eight hours between each dose.

As a type of alpha agonist, Qoliana works to lower eye pressure by decreasing the production of fluid in the eye and increasing the rate of drainage from the eye. Although some people may not have any problems with this medicine, side effects can occur and may include eye redness and itching.

To minimize potential risks with Qoliana, make sure your healthcare provider has a current list of any other medications you are taking, including any other eye medications, as well as up-to-date information on your medical history. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
