Glaucoma Types

The most common type of glaucoma is called open angle glaucoma. Also known as chronic glaucoma or primary open angle glaucoma, this condition mainly affects those over the age of 35. People usually have no symptoms at first but may gradually experience narrowed vision or blindness.

Glaucoma comes in many other forms, including:

  • Angle closure glaucoma
  • Low tension glaucoma
  • Normal tension glaucoma
  • Congenital glaucoma.
  •
Regardless of the type you have been diagnosed with, it is necessary to seek help from an eye care professional to control and prevent glaucoma-related eye damage.
