Azopt Eye Drop Information
Azopt® (brinzolamide) is available only by prescription and is used to treat open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It comes in the form of a suspension (drops) and is used three times daily in the affected eye(s).
The eye drops are not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medicines you are taking before prescribing Azopt. For example, you may not be able to safely use this medication if you have certain health conditions, such as kidney or liver disease.
Although many people do not have any problems while using this medication, Azopt can cause side effects, such as blurred vision or an unusual taste. If negative reactions do occur, they tend to be minor and easily treated.
(Click Azopt for more information on this eye drop. This article covers how this prescription drug works, lists additional side effects, and offers some safety precautions to be aware of before beginning treatment.)
