About Glaucoma
Every year, glaucoma causes 80,000 Americans to become blind, and another 900,000 people to lose partial vision. Glaucoma can cause high pressure within the eye (intraocular pressure), damage to the optic nerve, and loss of peripheral (side) vision. Besides blindness, symptoms of glaucoma can include narrowed vision, sensitivity to light, and excessive tearing. But did you know that there are several different types of glaucoma?
